Twin Oaks Elementary Art Docent Program™
The Art Docent Program™ is an interactive education in art history and artistic skills. The program was Initially developed in 1984 by art educator and author Barbara Herberholz.

Welcome!
We are excited to welcome you to the Twin Oaks Art Docent Program™ and invite you to come join our team.

Looking for a fun way to help at Twin Oaks? Be an Art Docent!
Art docents are parent volunteers that bring digital images of works of art to the classroom. Docents conduct discussions called Gallery Visits based on a theme such as musicians, cities, trains, pets, etc. There are eight themes per grade level. Docents have access to all of the discussion materials, images, and supplies.

What is the time commitment?
The time commitment is generally 2 hours a month. The two hours break down to 30 minutes of content/home preparation and 1.5 hours in the classroom. The classroom schedule is determined based on a mutually beneficial time for the teacher and docent.
